The Saints go Marching In

My name is Galactic Catholic and I have become a Saints fan. Football that is.

I have been avoiding this post because I have had a great conversion.  I never thought this type of conversion would ever happen.  I like football and watching sports games in general, basketball especially.  The hype drove me to get tickets for the Cowboys and Buccaneers games which the Saints lost. My friends and I had so much fun.

I think an added factor is that Drew Brees, the Saints quarterback, seems to really care about New Orleans. New Orleans still desperately needs ideals to hope in in the face of continued corruption and Katrina repairs. Football teams are a small way to boost an entire city.

I want to equate belief in the team to belief in the Church because the Holy Church is always a winning team, but I know it might only be a superficial comparison, because the Holy Church is the winningest team of the Ancient, Middle and Modern Age.

At least the Saints are easy to cheer for in the Church and out!

Burn's Point Louisiana

I went to see a friends newborn baby recently and on the way back home I decided to go see the Gulf of Mexico.  Some of my friends call me spontaneous, I don't see it. I'd like to think the area is named after Robert Burns the Scottish drunk and poet.

Upon a simmer Sunday morn,
When Nature's face is fair,
I walked forth to view the corn
An'snuff the caller air.
The risin'sun, owre Galston muirs
We' glorious light was glintin;
The hares were hirplin down the furrs,
The lav'rocks they wer chantin
Fu' sweet that day.
